About Me

About Me
Hi there and welcome to my cozy little place in the blogosphere! I’m Becca, the lady behind this blog. I am a born and raised Texan who grew up in a small town west of Houston. A town with a population of less than 4,000 and until I was a senior in high school had one stop light and one fast food restaurant (Dairy Queen of course!).

I went to college, double majored in management and marketing, and thought for sure I’d take the corporate world by storm. After working on campus as a student ambassador I realized my passion was helping students succeed in their own collegiate endeavors. So I stayed in higher education.

Along the way I married my college sweetheart (lovingly known here as “the hubs”), got a puppy (Lexi), bought a house, started a blog, sold a house, and traveled to ten destinations (including 4 countries) in just over a year.

Why blog?
I am a person that thrives when my plate is full and under the pressure of deadlines. Being stressed to the max seems to be where I find both thrill and comfort. Before starting this blog in February 2015 I always had a full plate, whether it was work, event planning, grad school, or countless other things that filled my calendar. Then I hit a slump....I was bored and wasn't utilizing my skills and creativity. Friends and colleagues kept telling me how much potential I had and I needed to find a way to use my abilities more. I also began noticing more and more people were coming to me for advice, ideas on gifts, fitness topics, restaurant recommendations, and recipes. Friends started asking me to go shopping with them to find the perfect outfit, what makeup and beauty products I was using. All these things are little passions of mine and I was glad to do it.

After realizing how stagnant my world had become, I decided to investigate the world of blogging. Believe me, it is scary to put yourself out there, but I reminded myself of all the things people told me and I knew I had more to share with the world.

This little space is my creative hub, the place where I can communicate my passions or maybe spark someone else's creativity. It's a place that challenges me to be brave, creative, and step outside my comfort zone.

I'm glad you've made it to Lexi & Lady and hope you continue to follow my journey and share in the excitement of life.
