Favorite Pin Friday | Volume 28

Whoa what a busy week! Sorry I missed a post on Monday, but here's a quick recap before sharing my Favorite Pin Friday.

Last Friday the hubs and I attended our friends' rehearsal dinner/welcome party (they had a lot of out of town guests in for their wedding). What a fun time! Saturday was the wedding, it was so gorgeous! I wish I would have captured more photos, but I guess I'll have to wait until the professional ones are available to share a few. This week has been crazy too. I am a staff advisor for a student organization at my university and their first induction ceremony for new members was Monday night. It went well, a couple of hiccups, but that's to be expected with a first time event. Then it was bingo and drinks with some friends. Tuesday and Wednesday involved different celebrations for the hubs' birthday! Unfortunately I was sick on his actual birthday so it wasn't much of a fun day. We'll make up for it soon though. Happy Birthday shout out because I know you read my posts :P

Which brings us to today and Favorite Pin Friday. When it comes to giving gifts I like to be thoughtful (I think I've mentioned this in a previous post) so for the bride and groom I framed scrabble tiles of their name. Not only is it personalized, but we have weekly game night with this couple, so how fitting is it to have a gift made of scrabble tiles?! Inspiration from Listoric.
and for those leftover scrabble tiles you didn't use, here are some other crafty options...

Favorite Time of Year

Hi everybody and welcome back. This weekend was pretty hum drum. I unpacked a bunch of boxes. Feeling a little more optimistic now that the clutter of boxes is gone. That was starting to be overwhelming. Still have to find a "home" for some unboxed items, but it will take time to settle and get everything the way I want it.

Lexi and I spent time on the new porch Saturday because the weather is so lovely! She's having a little trouble adjusting to the new place. I thought some time on the porch would help because we used to do that at our old place sometimes and she enjoyed it.

This is my favorite time of year. The cooler temperatures, fall clothes (hello boots, sweaters, scarves, and of course sweatpants), hot chocolate from Starbucks, pumpkin patch pictures on my Facebook newsfeed, and all the fun holidays! Already thinking about what recipes to make for Thanksgiving. Check back Friday for some fall dessert recipes I've pinned recently.

Looking forward to this week's weather (minus the rain at the end of the week). This is a short post because the weekend was uneventful and my energy level is low. Gym tomorrow morning will help with the energy. I hope everyone has a lovely week, see you again on Friday!

Until next post...xoxo Becca

Favorite Pin Friday | Volume 26

Hey everyone! I hope you've had a good week and have a fun weekend planned. The hubs and I are finally in the new place (after 3 days of non-stop moving). YAY! First off, if it wasn't for really awesome and supportive friends it may have taken us more than 3 days. So many of them came to help move and it was really great! The new place is super cluttered at the moment, but I'm hoping to have a lot of time this weekend to tackle it. Enough about my week, lets get on with Favorite Pin Friday.

Here are two things I've pinned in the last week that caught my eye. Apparently I'm digging leopard for fall :)

I'm In A New York State of Mind

Remember last week when I shared My Travel Bucket List? I was so excited to strikethrough New Orleans and now....now I get to visit New York City at Christmas time!!!! This is a lifelong dream!

The hubs and I are going with another couple. Everyone has been but me, so of course I'm busy researching all the touristy things plus the "like a local" places to go. I'm most excited to see the tree at Rockefeller Center, the storefronts because I've heard they are beautiful and creatively designed, Times Square, eat at Serendipity (yes because of the movie), and see the Rockettes (the hubs already purchased tickets). Of course there are a million more things to see, but those are my top must-do. If we have time I would like to see the Statue of Liberty and take a tour of Ellis Island. My ancestors came through Ellis Island from Scotland.

This also means shopping!!! Must have warm (and cute) clothes. First things first are warm boots. Came across these 'Lesley' waterproof suede wedge knee-high boots from UGG. The reviews say warm and comfy which means I'm sold :) I have a warm peacoat, but this wool blend moto jacket from Express is such a fun casual look. Not sure how warm it is, but I will keep watching the website for reviews. I've also been dying to have a red peacoat, add to my scarf collection, and wear cute hats and beanies. Goodness the hubs is going to kill me when I start purchasing all this stuff.

If you've been to NYC, what do you suggest doing/seeing? Oh and list some good places to eat. If you haven't been, what's on your list of things to do/see there?

Until next post...xoxo Becca

Favorite Pin Friday | Volume 25

Welcome and happy Friday! :) Back in July I posted about selling our house (read that post here) and guess what, it's sold and we are moving next week. There is a whole back story between July and now, but I'll spare you the details. We are downsizing, so with that comes the struggle of what to keep, what to put in storage, and what to donate or sell.

I've really been leaning on Pinterest and Houzz to give me decorating inspiration. Since the rooms are small I am having to be more creative in space utilization. Here are a couple of the Pinterest finds that are fueling my creative juices. Clean spaces, light and airy colors and decor...

My Travel Bucket List

Happy Monday! We had gorgeous weather over the weekend. Hopefully a lot of you did too and took advantage of the cooler weather. I attended a Kentucky Derby themed bridal shower on Saturday. So fun!

Growing up I didn't travel much, there wasn't much time or money to go on elaborate trips. My family did day trips and a few road trips. I hadn't traveled internationally until I met my husband and his family graciously took me to Grand Cayman. I had to get a passport! I was so excited and now I want to see so much more of this world. Here's my travel bucket list, starting with some beautiful pictures of things I want to see and then a list broken down to domestic and international.

Almalfi Coast, Italy (source)

The Bean, Chicago (source)

Dubai (source)

London (source)

Napa Valley (source)

Savannah Victorian Homes (source)

Domestic:
Florida
Gulf Shores, Alabama
Chicago
Las Vegas
New Orleans (recently went, see my post here)
New York City
Philadelphia
Savannah
Colorado (went once, but want to go back)
Washington D.C. (went in 2005, want to go back)
Seattle
Northern California

International:
Cabo
Costa Rica
Montreal Canada
London
Ireland
Paris
Germany
Italy
Greece
Spain
Dubai
Sydney

I'm sure there area million other places I would add to this list, but these are the places that come to mind when people ask where I want to go.

Tell me in the comments where you want to travel to!

Until next post...xoxo Becca

Favorite Pin Friday | Volume 24

Can you believe it's the first Friday in October!? Where is this year going? Who has started decorating for Halloween? Last year, my neighbor hosted a girls' craft night. She supplied the snacks and drinks and everyone was instructed to bring whatever craft project they wanted to work on. Best idea ever! I decided to make a Halloween sign for our front door. My inspiration came from Hunters of Happiness.

I loved how simple it was! I added polka dots to give it a little more color. Here's what my version ended up looking like.

I hope you find a fun craft project for Halloween, whether it be something for your front door, a costume, or a party decoration. Until next post...xoxo Becca
